Pillar

Hello fellow internet users.

When learning how to use Cinema 4D I practiced creating a few simple objects. An example of this would be the pillar that I made.

When creating the pillar I started of with a cube shape. I then scaled the the cube to much more smaller size by flattening it out, I did this by using the Y aces and pushing it inwards so I was able to format he shape without the other two aces moving. Once I formed the first part of the base of the pillar I then used another cube object and scaled this one so it was slightly smaller than the first object so that I was then able to place it on top.

Once I had formed the foot of the pillar I then moved onto creating the centre piece, I did this by using a Cogwheel and then extruded the Nurbs within the wheel to create a more ridged sharp object. Once I created the centre piece for the pillar I then moved onto developing the top half. For this part of creating the pillar all I need to do was copy the bottom half and mirror the object so it would then be evenly placed on top.

To Finish my new creation then then added a texture to place onto the pillar so that it was to look more realistic. The material which I had used for this was a crystal looking marble, this gave off a cold looking effect to the pillar as a whole. Once I had added a texture to the pillar I then multiplied the object so that I had four of the same pillar to then create a rectangular shape out of them. Once I all the pillar were in place I then used the pyramid shape to then form the top half.
